About Us

Romar Workwear was established in 1987. Our early years were spent manufacturing a range of workwear and products as diverse from polythene chemical suits to the RomarsorbTM brand of absorbent booms.
Romar Workwear are now a major distributor of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) of all the leading brands, however we have still kept our links with manufacture and have also moved into the service side of product with the philosophy of taking the products from cradle to grave.
The company’s background is based around the nuclear industry, in fact Romar hold the single source supply to BNFL Sellafield and Springfields for PPE. Romar have recently been awarded a contract to supply the dis-robe and re-robe decontamination type kits post 9/11, which demonstrated the company’s development and innovation of products.
We are based in West Cumbria at Ivy Mill, occupying 34,000 sq.ft. of warehousing and 10,000 sq.ft of manufacturing. The product is distributed across the whole of the UK and we have a dedicated sales team selling the Romar branded products abroad.
Our recent expansion includes the opening of our Harwell Sales and Service Centre, at Harwell Innovation Centre, Harwell International Business Centre, Didcot. Here we carry out service and repairs of Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE).
